Natural Godber Burnham Turquoise Freeform Cabochon: Godber-Burnham holds a special place in Nevada turquoise history, with richly colored blue stones and fine spiderweb material appearing in Southwestern jewelry for generations. Located northeast of Austin, the mine began as the Last Chance claim after its discovery in 1932. Frank Burnham and Walter Godber were among its early owners, and both names remain associated with the turquoise today. The Godber family went on to hold the property for more than sixty years. The mine is particularly admired for blue turquoise threaded with brown or black matrix, with some exceptional examples preserved in early Navajo silverwork. Its finest stones continue to attract collectors who appreciate both the material and the history behind it.
Natural and untreated, and backed for strength.
