This old-stock Kingman turquoise cabochon was cut from material mined years ago at the historic Kingman Mine in northwestern Arizona. Kingman turquoise is known for its wide range of color, from clear sky blue to deep blue and blue-green, often accompanied by tan, brown, black, or silver matrix. The varied color and matrix found in older Kingman material give each stone its own history and unmistakable character.
Old-stock Kingman turquoise is increasingly sought after by collectors, silversmiths, and jewelry makers who value American turquoise with a connection to the mine’s earlier production.
Stabilized for added durability and long-term color retention, and backed for additional strength.

As always, each stone is cut by hand here in my studio in the mountains of Wyoming.
