This Sonoran Gold turquoise cabochon was cut from material mined near Cananea in Sonora, Mexico. A relatively recent addition to the turquoise market, Sonoran Gold is known for colors ranging from aqua blue to lime green, often with both appearing in the same stone alongside golden-brown matrix. Unlike turquoise found in veins, this material is recovered as individual nuggets from clay deposits.
